Fraud Prevention

Electronic payments are a vital part of any business, and the introduction of credit card processing over the internet has increased the revenue stream for thousands of Australian businesses.  Allowing your products to be purchased worldwide gives your business greater exposure to potential customers, but also the potential to receive chargebacks from cardholders.

Camtech, in conjunction with its Acquiring Institutions and Card Associations have developed a secure payment gateway solution, which allows businesses to transact on the Internet, through Wireless applications, Call Centre solutions & IVR applications in a secure manner.

Through our continual development and programming, we have built a solution that is compliant with Payment Card Industry standards. Our solutions also support all security features available through the Australian banking network, as well as third party tools that can be used to reduce the risk of accepting fraudulent transactions.

Please find information below about the additional features and tools support by our payment services.

FraudGuard
FraudGurad is an anti-fraud tool that performs checks on customer and transaction details, and alerts merchants to possible fraudulent attempts. Merchants can easily set up their own fraud screening rules via our Merchant Log In, and attach a weighting when certain criteria is not met. Merchants can easily configure the settings below via the Merchant Log In.

  • ALLOW/DECLINE transactions from selected countries
  • IP and card issuing country do not match
  • Customer IP and delivery country do not match
  • Too many declined transactions from same IP
  • Too many transactions from same IP
  • And Many More... Click here for further information.

CVV2/CVC
CVV2 checks are another method of trying to reduce fraudulent transactions, by ensuring that the purchaser of an item has the credit card in his/her possession when making an online purchase. This counters against people using a stolen/altered card number or a duplicate card - otherwise known as a counterfeit card.

The CVV is printed on the front or back of the card (depending on each credit/charge card). Since this number is not printed on receipts, it is virtually impossible to replicate accurately on counterfeit or altered plastic.

3D Secure Authentication
3D Secure Authentication is an online service designed to make Internet transactions safer by authenticating a cardholder's identity at the time of purchase. Click here for further information.
